the PAST

Our story begins way back in 1935, when the founders of the Azzolini family, Bruno and Lolli, emigrants returning from Switzerland, decided to open a grocery store in the heart of Bardolino.

This was how “El Botegher Noo” was born, a name which translated from the dialect means “the new shopkeeper”. They were affectionately baptized thus by the local community as they were not natives of the place.

Since the first post-war period, the shop, thanks to the variety of products it offered, has been a point of reference for the residents of the town and also for the first tourists arriving from Germany.

Over the years, thanks to constant innovations brought first by Gianfranco and Luisa (second generation) then later by their son Diego, we have gradually given up on consumer products, preferring to include typical, high quality products.

Today, Diego is carrying on this family tradition together with his wife Lenilva and his daughters Bianca, Beatriz and Rebecca. Thanks to the experience gained over the years, we will be able to offer you the best products based on your needs.

Quality is our priority and we also offer the possibility of small tastings. We prefer Italian brands renowned for their excellence and authenticity.

Furthermore, to make your experience even more pleasant, we offer a shipping service throughout Europe. If you are in Bardolino and the surrounding area, we offer you the possibility of receiving your delivery for free directly at hotels, campsites and private homes.

Diego and Lenilva, thanks to the experience gained over the years, and inherited through the succession of three generations, will be able to advise you and offer you the best Italian brands of wines, spirits and many other specialties.

We are always available for tasting the products, before purchasing, with no less than 100 types of Italian grappa, at least five labels of local wines in rotation, various types of extra virgin oils and countless balsamic vinegars including also the traditional balsamic of Modena.

We ship throughout Europe, and deliver by hand to hotels, campsites and private homes in the area.

A modern point of sale, but which respects tradition, we can offer you numerous wine labels, a large choice of spirits and liqueurs, a vast range of honey, mustard, jam and compotes, as well as confectionery products (chocolate, sweets, biscuits), oil, balsamic vinegar, truffles, pasta, spices, condiments of various kinds... and many goodies to satisfy the palate of true connoisseurs.
